Off for a few days to go down and visit with Carrie, which will be lots of fun. Then next week I start the AP conference. And I just got an email stating I should come in with some books already read, bleh homework. Luckily I have already read the list of books - Awakening, Hamlet, Stranger, and Their Eyes were Watching God. Now all I have to do is go in at the end of the week to get the books out of my classroom. The two books I actually need to read because I assigned the students are Lord of the Flies and Heart of Darkness - hard to teach what you can barely remember :-P

Found some new textures at this site Lost and Taken. Lots of good stuff, so I wanted to make sure I gave it credit. I really do need to update my resources, the sad thing is that I think most of the places I snagged stuff from are now long gone. Anyway I made this art using the new textures - still Castle because well it is new to me and it still is the only show I have photos of on my new computer.

It has been another good week that has gone by too fast (summer slow down please). Went to the beach with friends and only got slightly sun burnt - well I wouldn't have been burned at all but I apparently missed a section on my back which was the only part of me to burn, whoops. Also got to see my new niece Lillian. She is so small and still freaking adorable despite the funky hairdo - so what if she has a slight mullet going on :-P

I have also been playing in Photoshop all summer, so far the only show I have done anything with is Castle. I have been meaning to do a few other shows, but I have to go find photos or turn on my old computer to transfer files. And apparently I am that lazy.

I am going to try and post thumbnails from my site, let me know if it doesn't work.

Since it is summer I decided to redesign the ol' site. Not sure how it happened, but it ended up pink. I don't know if I like this new design, so we will see how long it lasts. I do want to learn wordpress...

Yesterday I bought some scrapbook paper at Costco, so today I went through and scanned some of it. Of course now this piece is a little pattern happy, because I felt the need to use the scans, lol.

I am thinking of uploading the paper scans for others to download. I have over twenty of them and they are pretty fun.

I got really bored today and wanted to play in Photoshop, but I had no inspiration. Bleh. Then I remembered that aka_katya posted a tutorial for her awesome wallpaper. Very cool. So I copied that.

I thought about making it more 'mine' by turning it into more of a wallpaper, but nothing was coming to mind. So maybe next time. I actually have an idea using this technique for another wallpaper. But this one is pretty much a copy of what she did with a different picture. It turned out okay, there were a few things I changed and some I couldn't figure out how to do. It is not exact, but I think pretty close. All in all I learned and that was the point :)

I was bad and looked at some promo pics for an upcoming Smallville episode. But I figured Mike had already told me a little about it, and the photos don't actually spoil any plot points. Basically I have no idea what the episode is about. Anyway the photos were too fun not to play with. Once I get caught up with the show, I am so going to have to get caps for the whole episode.

Anyway very mild spoilers for what I think is next weeks Smallville episode - Noir.

As far as the art I mostly just really wanted to do a black borderless, and I think it turned out fairly well. My sister said it looked like the cover of a romance novel, and it does. Lol. I was also in the mood to try something different, at least for me.

I realize there are like two people on my friends list who even care about Superman, but it is done. lol.

I am actually really proud of this video, mostly because I think it is my best work. I actually spent a lot of time perfecting it, though it is far from perfect. I actually finished it a few days ago, but the reason it took me so long to finally declare it done is because I was trying to lighten it. On some monitors it will be too dark, but every time I tried to fix it my computer would crash. I decided that I wasn't going to waste anymore time on this. Basically once it becomes not fun it isn't worth it. So sorry if it is too dark for you. I tried.

Anyway here it is. Please critique it if you want. It really helped with my last video to get some critical feedback. I do like to know how I can improve.
